General Information What to Expect Before/After Pictures

The skin is our largest organ and the most vulnerable to the damaging effects of the sun and the environment. Returning your skin to its natural, youthful and radiant appearance is our goal.

As the natural aging process continues, new cell production slows down, and therefore, the rate at which the skin disposes of dead surface cells is delayed as well. This effect of the aging process results in dull, rough looking skin. Similarly, the production of collagen also slows down as we age. The collagen within the skin is vital to the skin's elastic and healthy appearance, and without it the skin becomes wrinkled.
To successfully rejuvenate the skin, medically prescribed treatments must be used. The principal products we use at the Center For Eye & Laser Surgery are glycolic and similar acids, retinol products, hydroquinone, Vitamin C, and antioxidants.

  • Retinol products- increase the production of collagen within the skin to improve the skin's elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and also accelerate the life cycle of the skin cell, inducing the more efficient production of new skin cells.
  • Acids- remove the dead surface cells and expose the new skin cells. This process is also known as exfoliation. Also, the stronger acids used assist in the production of collagen.
  • Hydroquinone- reduces the rate at which pigment is produced in the skin, therefore also reducing the appearances of unwanted blemishes and discolorations on the skin.
  • Vitamin C- increases the amount of collagen in the skin, and protects the skin from the damage that occurs because of the sun’s harmful UV rays.
  • Antioxidants- strengthen our skin’s natural defense mechanism and help repair damage already done to the skin by the sun and the environment.
