Brow and Forehead Lift
| General Information | What to Expect | Before/After Pictures |
The eyes are often the first place to show signs of aging. The brows are a crucial component to the overall appearance of the eyes. In cases where low brows are causing the eyes to look puffy and tired, a brow lift is recommended. These patients lift their brows subcousciously, which relieves heaviness and puffiness over the eyelids, but causes wrinkles in the forehead. The constant effort causes, in many cases, headaches and forehead fatigue. Surgery to lift the brow may be combined with eyelid lift surgery. Brow elevation using Thermage instead may offer a less aggressive yet excellent alternative to surgery.
There are several approaches to correct the brows and forehead. Thermacool™ by Thermage is a non-invasive, non-surgical technique useful when a mild lift is required. An endoscopic brow lift is used in those requiring surgery when the forehead anatomy allows. A direct incision behind the hairline is recommended instead of the endoscopic approach in some cases. Surgery is performed under anesthesia, while Thermage is performed in the office and involves no downtime.
